TEACHERS

PROGRAMME

During the course teachers from Estonia (Tallinn Ballet School), Russia (Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg), Switzerland (Ballett Zürich) will share their secrets and pay individual attention to every student.

Ballet classes, repertoire, pas de deux, contemporary, pilates, yoga, improvisation, stretching for beginners, joint activities.

FUTURE SCHOLARSHIPS 

STAGE PERFORMANCE

Judging by the results of the masterclasses the most successful participants will be chosen to have a short- or long-term scholarships at Tallinn Ballet School.

On the last days of the programme we are planning a concert open to the public on one of the stages in Tallinn and one of Estonian towns

  • to do first steps in ballet under the supervision of professionals;

  • know the price of a too long rest and have serious intentions to improve their skills;

  • want to polish their repertoire and fix it during stage performance;

  • want to develop their professional skills;

  • want a successful start in the new working season 2020-2021;

  • see their professional future in Europe;

  • want to enter Tallinn Ballet School;

  • want to experience a partner dance

  • want to know different methods of classical dance practice;

NB! Depending on their level candidates can enter into an elder group. The decision is made individually judging on videos.

JOINT CULTURAL PROGRAMME

In addition to studies on some days we provide also cultural and entertaining programme so that participants could know each other better and pass their free time in a more interesting way (acquaintance party, sightseeing in Tallinn Old Town etc).


TIBM IN FIGURES AND DETAILS

  • From 2017 till now TIBM have been held three times already and have become a tradition  

  • During three years 60 students have passed the course.

  • 9 participants of TIBM have received an invitation for an annual scholarship at Tallinn Ballet School

  • During three years students from Estonia, Russia (St. Petersburg, Perm), Portugal, Finland, Japan, Turkey, Belarus, Greece, Korea, Poland have successfully passed the course.

  • In 2018 there were 5 repeaters, in 2019 - 10 repeaters (among them 2 participants were double-repeaters) 

  • According to the results of 2019 questionnaire TIBM have received 9,43 points at 10 point scale

3- and 2-week Tuition fee includes: groups studies according to the programme, meeting at Tallinn airport/railway station/seaport, if necessary invitation to get Estonian visa. Gala concert participation fee is also included in 2- and 3-week course. Participation in less then 2-week course does not give right to participate in gala concerts.

Tuition fee DOES NOT include: accommodation, board, medical insurance and any other medical expenses, additional studies not included into the programme, everyday transportation fee, transfer fee on arrival and departure days.

VENUE

Main studies will be held in the building of Tallinn Ballet School (Address: Tallinn, Toom-Kooli 11) which is located on the top of Toompea Hill in the heart of the historical Old Town which is included into UNESCO World Heritage List. 




ACCOMMODATION

Organizers can provide assistance in accommodation for foreign participants either in the dormitory or in the hotel. 

Ballet Dormitory

Hotel

Ballet dormitory  (about 30 minutes from the school by tram/bus + on foot) - is the place where foreign or not local students stay during the school year. 

Hotel Go Shnelli (15 minutes on foot from school) or another hotel in Tallinn.

Price: 

Ages 9-17: from 11 eur/night

Ages 18-22: 20 eur/night  

Number of places in the dormitory is limited.

Accommodation for accompanying parents/teachers is possible but prices and conditions are different and are subject to be agreed with organisers.

Price:

from 56 eur/night/person in a twin room with breakfast.

 

Accommodation in 2- or 3-bed room with other students. Shared shower/toilet/kitchen on the same floor. Linen change once a week. Paid washing machine. 5th floor, stairs only (no elevator).  

Number of places is limited because of a high tourist season. 

Price can be changed. 



BOARD

Lunches will be organized for students in one of the cafes in a walking distance from Tallinn Ballet School during the lunch break on the days of studies. Price will be from 7 eur/lunch/person. 

There will be no organized board on days off. Participant have to care about every day breakfasts, dinners and day off lunches on their own. There is a kitchen in the dormitory and everything necessary for cooking and food storage. There is a supermarket in 5 minutes walk from the dormitory.  



APPROXIMATE COSTS FOR 3 WEEKS

General costs consist of three parts: your flight to Tallinn and back home + tuition fee (see above) + additional costs (see below):

Additional costs for 3 weeks for a participant up to 18 years old (in total 25 days, arrival on 12th of July and departure on 4th of August):

 

  • Accommodation in the dormitory: 11 eur*23 night = 247 eur
  • Lunches: from 7 eur*6 days a week*3 weeks = from 126 eur
  • Board (breakfasts, dinners and day off lunches) in their own: from 10 eur per day* 25 days = 250 eur
  • Transport card (tram, bus, trolleybus): month fee 23 eur + deposit 2 eur
  • Taxi on arrival and departure days: 2*10 eur = 20 eur
  • Pocket money: from 30 eur

 

Total: additional costs are from ~700 eur.

This means that if one aged 15-17 comes for three weeks he or she can spend around 2000-2300 eur but tak into account that tuition fee and air tickets are cheaper when booked in advance.

Orientalist, graduated from Moscow University. During many years have been engaged in organising cultural events, among others ballet, theatre, choir concert tours in Estonia, Russia and Japan. Ideologist and producer of Tallinn International Ballet Competition.
